Khavari earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Bremen, Germany, in 1976. His doctoral thesis was entitled “The Pricing of Opec Crude Oil – An Analysis of the Determinants.”  Dr. Khavari received his Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Hamburg, Germany in 1973.  His masters thesis was “The Interdependece of the Oil-Producing and Oil-Consuming Nations.”
